It took a couple of them but we finally got the little guy down for a nap. Don't think we'll be making that trip to Costco. Might have had my expectations a little high.

Flying solo
This week was Kathleen's first full week back at work and today was her Saturday as well. Which meant having Ellen and Andrew all by myself. I told Ellen last night she was going to have to help me. Thankfully she was some help and luckily she loves giving her little brother bottles.

Girl with a Pearl Earring
Ellen brings home many pieces of art and crafts from Miss Irma's on a daily basis. Several weeks ago the focus was on various artists and their master pieces, including Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring. Ellen brought home her own version which I thought was so great I would share it with everyone! FYI, the the pearl is actually a bean.
Andrew's First Day
I need to start posting more pictures before more time passes. Until then here is a quick picture we took of Andrew's first day at Miss Irma's with all his new friends.
Andrew arrived sleepy and tired as you can see. After we left he slept briefly and then went back down without too much fussing for a longer nap. He then woke up hungry had a bottle flashed his smile and coo'd for everyone until Mom pick him up mid day. All in all a successful first day!

Tomato Harvest
Here is a brandywine tomato harvested from the garden. It is not the first one but it is definitely the biggest one to date!
Candids by Katie: Andrew 3 weeks
We took these pictures with Katie when Andrew was only 3 weeks old. We're hoping to send out birth announcements soon taken from the shoot. Better late than never! You can view all of the images below from our family Shutterfly account.

It's The Swagger Wagon
In the weeks leading up to Andrew's birth we knew I had to find an alternative mode of transportation to replace the Ford Ranger. Having not driven anything other than Ranger since high school I was entering uncharted waters. The possibilities were endless..... should I sell the Ranger and get a 4 door super cab? Should I keep the Ranger and get something more practical?
In the end I decided to keep the Ranger for the time being for those trips to Home Depot and various landscaping projects. I don't want to be that guy in front of Home Depot trying to fit a 2x4 through the back window of the family car. Replacing my day to day commute is now what I like to call the Swagger Wagon!! Its not Toyota's version but instead Mazda's smaller more mini mini-van, the Mazda5. I prefer to describe it as more swagger and little less wagon.
Kathleen and Andrew next to the Mazda5. Notice the moonroof, 17 inch alloy wheels and fog lights?
Privacy tint on the back windows. Thats how Ellen likes to roll with her posse in the HOV.
My #1 Dad mug says, yeah I'm the mac!
