The Girls

Ellen has been in the crawl position but hasn't yet put it all together. While enticing her with toys and silly noises doesn't really work it does get Gypsy's attention. Here are the two girls side by side.

Almost Crawling

Ellen isn't quite there yet, but she is getting really close. Clista captured this video today and sent it to us. We are just a few weeks away from full on crawling machine I think.

Back in San Diego

Hello All! We returned from Florida early this week, passing through Nashville on our way. During our short lay over we discovered Ellen is getting more teeth. At least one more on her upper left side.

It's good to be home and since returning its been right back to work and life just as busy before we left. I have several more pictures from our trip to post and I'll do so this weekend. I think Ellen is back on west coast time as of Wednesday. All in all she was great on the trip. I had feared the worst and hoped for the best. Let's just say she surprised me with great joy.

More later.

Live From Jacksonville: Part III

Here's your daily update from Florida. This morning several of the guys went out on 3 different charters to do a little fishing. Dan and myself ended up on the Southern Style along with Andy, Kevin and Conor Jennings as well as Jim Monahan. Captain Tony recommended we go after the King Fish, also known as King Mackerel. They aren't the best tasting fish but they were fun to catch. Here is Dan landing one of the bigger fish that day.

Once we got back to the dock our Captain, a real good 'ol boy from Fernandina, gave us a few pointers on preparing King Fish.

Most of you are probably wondering where the Ellen related material is??? Well, Mom and Ellen were suppose to take a walk on the beach this morning and are currently shopping in Fernandina as I type.

Live From Jacksonville: Part II

Hello again from Florida! Still warm and humid but having a good time. To give you an idea of just how humid it is here I have been unable to use the camcorder outside because the lens fogs up so quickly the video is pretty much unwatchable. Not to mention the fact the camera refuses to operate due to a condensation detected error message.

The digital camera still works though. Here is a picture of 3 out of the 5 Brown sisters along with Kathleen and Ellen.

Amazing hush puppy from the Down Under restaurant in Fernandina. Sorry Greg, this puppy has Big Jim's beat.

Tomorrow deep sea fishing! More updates then!

Live From Jacksonville

Greetings from Amelia Island near Jacksonville, Florida. We arrived Sunday for the Brown Family reunion for a week of fun and sun. The weather is quite oppressive with highs and humidity in the 90's but bearable with frequent wading in the pool and cool beverages.

Yesterday was our first full day in Florida and we spent most of it in the pool and near the beach if we weren't indoors enjoying the comforts of A/C. Later in the evening, after the Ellen and her cousins Sam and Patrick went to bed, we headed out for dinner to downtown Jacksonville. We had some really great paella, enjoyed a beer with the lots of family at a local watering hole and headed home. On the way we saw two armadillos and including one sleeping along the road.

Mom and Ellen at the beach.

Jonathan and Sam playing in the surf. The water temp is so high its like a bath!

Armadillo taking a siesta.

Six Month Pictures

Last weekend we all went to Balboa Park to have our pictures taken by Katie, a friend of Kathleen's that she met in the neighborhood. Katie is a great photographer and has business here in San Diego called Candids by Katie. She took some great pictures and we already have arrangements in another 6 months with her. I've put her pictures up on Shutterfly and I'll probably put them up on Flickr as well. I may begin phasing all my images over to Flickr but for now you'll find everything on Shutterfly. I know some of you, like ourselves, may have already purchased prepaid prints.

You can view all the images including some black and whites in our online albumn.
